Features
- Highly versatile flat bed design lends itself to a wide range of applications including job shops, tool rooms, educational facilities, shaft production and low to medium production runs.
- Anti-friction PTFE material between saddle and bed greatly reduces friction and has superior dampening properties to reduce chatter during machining cycles. The low friction PTFE minimizes bed wear and extends the life of the machine.
- Heavy-duty cast iron bed ways are induction hardened to 45Rc to a minimum depth of 0.060 inch.
- Triangulated bed webs give the bed very high torsional stiffness, eliminating bed deflection even during heavy roughing cuts.
- Extra wide 12.5″ bed maximizes support for the saddle and cross slide assembly for smooth machining of even large components.
- Variable AC spindle drive provides 10Hp (30 Min Rated) and 7.5Hp (Continuous) for exceptional machining power.
- Three-range headstock allows full horsepower to be reached at 70 rpm. More efficient machining is therefore possible in situations requiring low spindle speeds such as the machining of large components or of tough materials such as stainless and tool steels.
- Superior headstock lubrication is accomplished with an external electric oil pump to ensure a long life of spindle bearings and gearing.
- Automatic central oil system with low oil alarm maintains proper lubrication to slide ways and ballscrews.
- Digital AC servo drive system provides powerful and accurate axes positioning.
- A wide choice of tooling options are available to further enhance the versatility of the machine. Gang tooling, quick-change tool posts and automatic indexing turrets are available to suit job conditions and maximize output.
- Optional eight-station automatic indexing turret with VDI 30 tooling provides flexibility with quick changeover and set-up. A wide range of turning and boring toolholders are available to meet the requirements of most any job.
- Optional quick-change tool post allows an unlimited number of tools to be used, and eliminates interference problems with idle tool stations. The compact nature of the quick-change tool post also increases the maximum turning capacity.
- Fully enclosed, interlocked guarding maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- The compact size of the CNC2000 allows for efficient use of floor space.
- DIN 8605 Toolroom Accuracy
Fanuc 0iTF Control XS Series Machines

XS Series Alpha System Control
Alpha System’s unique operation based control software developed by Colchester/Harrison uses easily recognizable screen graphics along with simple question and answer prompts to guide you through a programming operation. It is also the reason that the Alpha System uses a touch screen so you can work directly on screen rather than hunt for the right button to press. This system will allow you to program 26 different operations and store them in the control.
Tool Setting – On many lathes tool setting can be a difficult and tedious process. With the Alpha things are different and there is no lathe control on earth that has a simpler tool setting procedure. Just follow the instructions on three screens and the job is done, with the machine automatically calculating offsets and work shifts for you.
Semi-Automatic Turning – With the Harrison Alpha System, a wealth of semi-automatic turning operations can be performed. These include parallel turning to stop positions, chamfers and radii, tapers, threads, grooves, box cycles and even contour shapes. What’s more, the easy to understand shop floor language coupled with touch screen simplicity means that a turner can learn to machine parts quickly. Most Operators will learn to use the Alpha System in less than half a day!
