14″ x 40″ New Arca Lathe Model ATEL 1440TVS Features:
HEAVY DUTY SPINDLE: The headstock spindle is machined from forged alloy steel. It is hardened, ground and dynamically balanced. The spindle is supported at three-points by high grade precision bearings, two tapered and one ball.
ELECTRONIC VARIABLE SPEED HEADSTOCK: There are two headstock gear ranges that supply a high torque in low range (20 to 400 RPM) and in high range (40 to 2500 RPM). The electronic control panel that is mounted above the headstock provides a RPM LED display, ON-OFF power indicator light, speed control knob, emergency stop push button and spindle jogging push button. The electronic infinitely variable speed is controlled by an AC motor inverter. A 1/4HP electric pump provides the headstock with forced pressure lubrication.
BED and BASE: One-piece machine floor base is made of solid cast iron. Wide bed design is made of Meehanite casting that is vibration stress relieved. Bed ways are induction hardened to HRC 53 and precision ground. The precision hand scraped bed is designed with a removable gap. The industry proven LeBlond traditional design Vee and Wide Flat solid bed design structure provides rigidity that assures accuracy and maximum stability. Convenient front removeable chip tray allows for easy chip removal.
