The Unique feature of the “FR series” Femco Boring Mills is the Programmable U-axis Facing and Profile Turning Head which is integrated (or built in) to the machine structure and is a non-removable component. The Programmable U-axis Facing and Profile Turning Head provides actual large capacity turning functions suitable for valves, pumps, gearbox housings, as well as tube and joint end preparation. This Facing Turning Head uses an HSK tool holder system for quick, rigid fixation of the facing, turning and boring tools to the U-Axis slide. The Femco U-axis Facing and Profile Turning Head is capable of turning tapers, radii, and single point threading. It is an independent programmable axis and is dis-engaged from the main spindle during high RPM drilling or milling operations.
All major machine components are fully ribbed close grain meehanite castings completely stressed relieved before machining.
Precision glass scales are installed on X-Y-Z axes insuring accuracy and repeatability in your environment. These scales are independent of the drive system.
