The SLE48-16 Single Wheel Slitter is a must-have for anyone cutting sheet metal; it’s rugged yet portable. It’s designed to bring to the job site, but it is also a handy tool to have in the shop. The slitter can shear strips anywhere from 1” to 24” wide with no limitation in length. The operation is simple, set the pointer to the desired width of the cut, and lock it into place, no tools required. The maximum shearing capacity is 16ga. mild steel but will also cut aluminum, stainless and other materials.
- Die-set type gauge mounting for easy setting and precise squareness
- Gauge mounting rods are extended to provide convenient carrying handles
- Gauge is easily removed for easy transportation and no “re-squaring” needed
- Knives are “reversible”, intervals between sharpening is double that of a single edge knives
- Outbound knives for easy access
- Stripper rings are designed to hold the material flat, and to prevent marking on the material
- Drive shafts mounted with precision sealed ball bearings
- Dual bearings mounted at knife height end to minimize deflection and increase knife life
- Heavy duty roller chain drive powered by 1/3 HP gear motor
