50 Amp New CHMER CM434Z ZNC EDM is the product of decades of experience building EDM machine tools. It is a three-piece design, comprised of the machine tool, DI tank, and CNC control.
The name CHMER (“shim-mer”) sounds funny, but CHMER is a very serious player in the EDM world. They have been in business for over 40 years building EDMs and their high-speed mills. CHMER has five manufacturing facilities and includes their 24,000 sq. meter manufacturing facility in Taichung, Taiwan. Like EDM Network, CHMER’s philosophy is to do what they do best. They build their own power supplies and CNC controls, right down to the PC board-level. They build the machine tools and use only high-quality components on them, such as Intel PC, Panasonic AC Servo Motors, and Servo Packs, Heidenhain and Fagor Glass Scales and Grundfos pumps, etc. The R&D facility is constantly ensuring that CHMER is at the forefront of EDM technology. CHMER is ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 certified. They also write all their own software. They are a totally independent manufacturing company.

The CHMER CM323Z is the product of decades of experience building EDM machine tools. It is a space-efficient two-piece design comprised of the machine tool, DI tank, and NC control. It is a compound table design with the oil reservoir located inside the cast base to conserve space.

Scales .000040” resolution scales ensure positioning accuracy. X Y and Z axis positions are displayed on the ZNC control, not on a DRO box. Z-Axis depth is controlled by the programmed depth.
Construction The casting is a very rigid design to ensure longevity, stability, and offset the effects of temperature fluctuation.
Remote control The remote allows the operator to perform operations such as jog, edge find, Cycle Start and Cycle Stop.
Single-shot lube system This system eliminates the use of a grease gun and delivers lubricant to all necessary parts of the machine.
Construction The casting is a very rigid design to ensure longevity, stability, and offset the effects of temperature fluctuation.

When equipped with optional Orbitor:
- Machine becomes a three axis ZNC EDM with ± .196” U and V travel that is integrated to the Z axis depth control.
- Numerous preprogrammed orbit routines, circular, square, Vector +X, -X, +Y, -Y etc.
- Great reduces the required number of rough and finish electrodes.
The control is a CNC control. When equipped with the optional Orbitor, it can easily execute canned orbit routines. Even without the Orbitor, it operates very much like other CNC EDM controls. Its intuitive conversational programming is very easy to use. The power supply is simple to manage. Of course, power selections are chosen automatically by the control. The operator simply inputs the following:
- Depth of cut
- Electrode material and work piece material
- Surface area of cut
- Wear rate
- Desired Surface Finish
- If Orbitor equipped, select the Orbit pattern.
The control does the rest, changing power settings (and orbits) at the appropriate times in the Z burn to allow for electrode wear and achieve the desired surface finish in the shortest possible burn time. All parameters are easily edited. This is especially helpful when cutting exotic materials.
Programs can be created via MDI. The control uses an Intel Pentium-powered, industrial-grade PC.

With built-in Loran, orbit pattern, power supply and servo feedback are all controlled by CHMER EZ CPU. With Z axis locked, it can also burn threads with circular orbit pattern selected.
